Service animals at low or no cost

We rely solely on charitable donations to help families in need. Our goal is to ensure that service, therapy, or companion animals are available to everyone regardless of financial circumstance. Donations of goods and services, from corporate sponsors and from private benefactors, are used so that we never have to turn away a child or animal in need.

Animals matched to address specific disabilities
Service animals can be trained to meet needs of individuals with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) including Asperger’s Syndrome, High and Low functioning Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Service dogs aid with communication disorders including apraxia and mental illnesses such as depression, phobias, and social anxiety disorder

Special needs programs for children
Summer camp and farm programs are designed to teach children and adults, with special needs, how to better relate with the world around them by interacting, caring for, and training animals.

Rehabilitate rescue dogs and horses
Suitable animals are trained to be service, therapy, or companion animals for children, adults, and seniors with special needs. Autism service dogs, therapy dogs and horses, companion dogs are rescued from all over the United States.

Our sponsors
Our sponsors include America’s Dog Whisperer®, New Jersey’s Dog Whisperer, There’s Hope!©, NUVET Labs, Inc.®, and private and public benefactors without whose help and assistance, we would never have seen our dream come to fruition.

Who was Merlin?
The founder of Merlin’s Kids named the organization for her special white Lipizzan stallion, whose magnificent stature and gentle, nurturing manner, changed many lives. His love of children and compassion for those in fear or in pain made him a truly unique horse. True, he was “just a horse” to those who did not know him, but the power of animals to touch those in need, is well-documented and is recognized by many to give hope to the hopeless.

Opportunities to Volunteer
Merlin’s Kids gladly accepts volunteers of all ages, with or without special needs, who wish to help.

Tax Deductible Donations
Tax deductible donations of all kinds are gladly accepted. Anyone wishing to provide financial support, or related goods or services should contact Janice Wolfe at (201) 788-3882 or email us at Janice@merlinskids.net.

About Our founder
Janice Wolfe, the founder of Merlin’s Kids, and a cancer survivor, searched for a reason why she survived while so many others did not. As a result, she has dedicated herself to helping to provide and train service animals for special needs individuals
